Above we see Anubis, in
the "Hall of Maat",
watching
over
the weighing of the heart of a deceased
person against the feather
of
Maat. Anubis appears on behalf of the
diseased, as Thoth (not shown) records the results on behalf of the gods. It
is also Anubis that protects the dead from Ammut, the 'Devourer of
the Dead.'
