. . . . .The tomb of Ramesses I lies within the Valley of the Kings, in West Thebes. Ramesses I was the first Pharaoh of the 19th Dynasty. His reign was short, only about a year. This may explain why his tomb is so small. However, what the tomb lacks in size it makes up for in beauty. The Paintings in the burial chamber are masterfully done, they portray the dead king with many deities in scenes from the Book of Gates.
